Starting point: the periodontium
Periodontology is the study of the periodontium, the periodontal ligaments. Mostly, however, dealt with this issue, the periodontal disease. The periodontal diseases are diseases of the gums.
Because the tooth, both with the environment, as is also inside the body, in conjunction with, various defensive barriers a seal between the environment and the jawbone (Fig. produce 1).
